Biltong and meat

Come for the freezer, not for the wall.

Three or four days, a group of friends, and an animal priced off the carcass rather than the horn. Field dressed within the hour, hung the same day, cut and packed the way you asked before you drive home.

Day rates

What the day costs, before any animal.

Charged per hunting day, per hunter. Arrival and departure days are half days. All figures include VAT and do not move with the exchange rate.

A representative animal at a fair age. If you want a measured trophy with a taxidermist at the end of it, that is the resident trophy list and the fees there are different.

Booking terms

How the money works.

Booking and deposit

A 25% deposit confirms your dates. Weekends in season are held for seven days from the date of quote, not fourteen, because they are the first thing to go.

Paying the balance

The balance of day rates is due on arrival, by EFT or card. Animal fees are settled on the last day against a sheet you sign with your guide, so you are never billed for something you did not see shot.

Wounded and lost game

An animal that is wounded and not recovered after a full day of following up is charged at the full fee. This is the same on both strands and it is the same everywhere in the country. Your guide will discuss it with you before the first shot.

Cancellation

Deposits move to another set of dates within 12 months at no cost, or to another hunter. Inside 21 days of arrival the deposit is forfeited unless we can resell the dates.

Prices

Every figure on the local price lists is in South African rand and includes VAT. Rand prices do not move with the exchange rate. The price on your written confirmation is the price you pay.

Before you drive up

Road directions, what paperwork to bring, how much cooler box space an impala actually needs, and what happens if you want boerewors made to your own recipe.
