Terms & conditions
The commercial terms that apply to every safari we run. Nothing here should surprise you: it is the same set of terms we walk through on the phone before you pay a deposit.
Last updated August 2026
Booking and deposit
A booking is confirmed when we receive a deposit of 50% of the daily-rate total. Until then, dates are held for 14 days from the date of your written quote and are released automatically after that.
Your written quote states the rate you will pay. It is held for the duration of the booking and is not adjusted for currency movement after confirmation.
Balance and trophy fees
The balance of daily rates falls due 60 days before arrival. Trophy fees are settled in camp on the final day, against a trophy sheet that you and your professional hunter sign together.
Additional animals taken beyond those included in a package are charged at the published trophy fee current at the time of the hunt.
Wounded and lost game
An animal that is wounded and not recovered after a full day of follow-up is charged at the full trophy fee. Your professional hunter decides when a follow-up ends. This is standard industry practice and we discuss it with you before the first shot of the safari is fired.
Cancellation and postponement
Deposits are transferable to another set of dates within 24 months, or to another hunter, at no cost. Cancellations within 60 days of arrival forfeit the deposit unless we are able to resell the dates.
If we cancel for any reason within our control, your deposit and any balance paid are refunded in full.
Insurance
Every client and observer must hold travel insurance including medical and emergency evacuation cover for the duration of the safari. We will ask to see it. Hunting is an outdoor activity in a remote area and this is not negotiable.
Conduct in the field
Your professional hunter's decision is final on which animals may be taken, when a shot may be taken, and on any matter of safety. We reserve the right to end a safari without refund in the case of unsafe firearm handling, hunting under the influence of alcohol, or a refusal to follow a lawful instruction.
All hunting is conducted under South African and Limpopo provincial law, and under the ethical standards published on this site.
Trophies and shipping
We prepare trophies in the field and deliver them to a registered taxidermist. Taxidermy, dip-and-pack, crating, freight and customs clearance are contracted between you and those providers directly, and are billed by them. We facilitate but do not carry liability for their work or their timelines.
Liability
Clients and observers participate at their own risk and will be asked to sign an indemnity on arrival. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Prices and currency
All prices on this site are quoted in United States dollars, are indicative, and are subject to change until confirmed in a written quote. Prices move with the rand/dollar exchange rate.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Questions should go to hunt@bosmansafaris.com.
